"अभि वेना अनूषतेयक्षन्ति प्रचेतसः। मज्जन्त्यविचेतसः"।। (ऋग्वेदः--9.64.21) ऋषिः--काश्यपः। देवताः--पवमानः सोमः। छन्दः--विराड् गायत्री। स्वरः---षड्जः। शब्दार्थः----(वेनाः) विद्वान्, आस्तिक, देवभक्त,(अभि) दिन के दोनों ओर प्रातः-सायम्, (अनूषत) उस प्रभु का स्तवन करते हैं, यह स्तवन ही उन्हें वासनाओं से बचाता है। (प्रचेतसः) ज्ञानी पुरुष, (इयक्षन्ति) यज्ञों को करने की कामना वाले होते हैं, (अविचेतसः) नासमझ लोग न स्तवन करते हैं, ना ही यज्ञों को करने की कामना वाले होते हैं, नास्तिक लोग, अतः ये विषयों में फँसकर वीर्य नाश कर संसार सागर में (मज्जन्ति) डूब जाते हैं, पतित होते हैं। व्याख्याः---इस मन्त्र में आस्तिकों और नास्तिकों का अन्तर बतलाया गया है। दोनों के भविष्य का भी संकेत किया है। आस्तिक लोग यज्ञ करते हैं, ईश्वर-उपासना करते हैं, ज्ञानवान् होते हैं, अत एव वे सदा उन्नति करते हैं और अपने लक्ष्य को प्राप्त कर लेते हैं। दूसरी ओर नास्तिक लोग संध्या, यज्ञ आदि से दूर रहते हैं, इतना ही नहीं वे इन धार्मिक कृत्यों से घृणा करते हैं, परमात्मा को नहीं मानते, इसलिए उसकी उपासना भी

(अधः पश्यस्व) नीचे देख, (मा उपरि) ऊपर मत देख, तेरे में अकड न हो। तू घर में शासन करने वाली अवश्य है, पर तू (पादकौ ) दोनों पैरों को, (संहर तराम्) मिलाकर रखने वाली होओ, असभ्यता से पाँव को फैलाकर न फिर। (ठीक प्रकार से एकत्र करके रख।) (ते कशप्लकौ) तेरे कशप्लक अर्थात्‌ दोनों स्तन, पीठ और पेट, नितम्ब, दोनों जांघें और दोनों पिण्डलियॉं (मा दृशन्‌) दिखाई न दें। वस्त्रों से तू अपने को ठीक प्रकार से आवृत कर जिससे तेरे निचले अंग न दिखते हों। सब कुछ किसलिए ? (हि) क्योंकि (निश्चय सेे गृहस्थयज्ञ में) (स्त्री) स्त्री (ब्रह्मा) ब्रह्म, (सर्वमुख्य ऋत्विज्) निर्माणकर्त्री (बभूविथ) होती है। इसी ने इस यज्ञ को निर्दोष बनाना है। भावार्थः----(1.) निरभिमान व शालीन स्त्री ही गृहस्थ यज्ञ की ब्रह्मा बनती है, गृहस्थयज्ञ को यही निर्दोष व निर्विघ्न बनाकर पूर्ण करती है। इसे नम्र होन

यज्ञ क्या है ? यज्ञ का उद्देश्य क्या है ? यज्ञ के आवश्यक तत्त्व क्या हैं ? देवपूजा, संगतिकरण और दान परस्पर कैसे आबद्ध हैं ? तत्त्व-त्रय के अभिनयार्थ अग्नि, समिधा और आज्य क्यों आवश्यक हैं ? कुण्ड में आधान की गई अग्नि किसका उपलक्षण है ? अग्न्याधान का क्या प्रयोजन है ? आहित अग्नि के लिए इध्म प्रथमागामी क्यों है ? इध्म और समिधा में क्या अन्तर है ? समिधा में प्रयुक्त सम् उपसर्ग का क्या महत्त्व है ? इत्यादि प्रश्नों का विवेचन हो गया । अब, इसके पश्चात् अग्नि को प्रबुद्ध कैसे रखा जाए ? चेचित कैसे किया जाए जिससे कि एक बार आहित-अग्नि-इध्म द्वारा इद्ध-अग्नि, घृत द्वारा समिद्ध-अग्नि और हवि द्वारा सुसमिद्ध-अग्नि हो जाए, जिससे समर्पणकर्त्ता जन स्वयं आकर्षित होते चले आएँ और अपनी आत्मा को इध्म बनाने में गौरव अनुभव करें ? अग्नि को प्रबुद्ध करने के लिए, चेताए रखने के लिए, सुसमिद्ध बनाने के लिए जिस साधन की आवश्यकता होती है, उसका नाम घृत है, आज्य है । समिधा जहाँ अग्नि को इद्ध रखने के लिए प्रथम साधन है, वहाँ घृत अग्नि को निर्धूम रखने के लिए द्वितीय साधन है। समिधा अग्नि को दीप्त करती है, वह अग्

वैदिक-संस्कृत की झलक  तस्माद्यज्ञात् सर्वहुत ऋचः सामानि जज्ञिरे। छन्दांसि जज्ञिरे तस्माद्यजुस्तस्मादजायत।। यजुर्वेद 31.7 परमात्मा ने सृष्टि की रचना की। उसके संविधान के लिए चार वेदों का प्रकाश किया। अग्नि ऋषि के हृदय में ऋग्वेद, वायु ऋषि के हृदय में यजुर्वेद, आदित्य ऋषि के हृदय में सामवेद और अङि्गरा ऋषि के हृदय में अथर्ववेद ज्ञान दिया। इन चारों ऋषियों से ब्रह्मा ने वेदों का ज्ञान प्राप्त किया। ब्रह्मा से इन्द्र ने और इन्द्र से भरद्वाज ने वेद विद्या ग्रहण की। भरद्वाज से वेद विद्या तपोमूर्ति ब्राह्मणों को मिली। ब्राह्मणों ने जग के कल्याण के लिए सामान्य लोगों में वेद विद्या का प्रचार किया। वैदिक वाङ्मय को चार भागों में वर्गीकृत किया जाता है- संहिता, ब्राहमण, आरण्यक और उपनिषद्। तद्यथा- मन्त्रब्राह्मणयोर्वेदनामधेयम्। यहाँ पर ब्राह्मण से ब्राहमण सहित आरण्यक और उपनिषद् भी गृहित है। आचार्य सायण ने वेद से अभिप्राय निकाला है-इष्टप्राप्त्यनिष्टपरिहारयोरलौकिकमुपायं यो ग्रन्थो वेदयति स वेदः। अर्थात् इष्ट की प्राप्ति और अनिष्ट के परिहार का अलौकिक उपाय बताने वाला ग्रन्थ वेद है। ऋषि
